Masters Field Lacrosse at IMC ’25

For seasoned field players aged 35+ and 50+, the International Masters Challenge (IMC) Men’s Masters Tournament offers a prime opportunity to rekindle competitive fire while enjoying the deep camaraderie of the traditional field game. Established in 2019, the IMC serves as a premier lacrosse tournament featuring international-affiliation senior teams based in the U.S. and continues to grow in prestige and participation .
Divisions & Structure
- Divisions are organized by age: 35+ and 50+, allowing players to compete comfortably against their peers .
- In the previous 2024 edition:
- Each team within a division played every other team once.
- Divisional winners were determined by win–loss records and head-to-head results.
- If tiebreakers were needed, goal differential came into play.
- The top two teams from each division advanced to a championship game, with winners earning the coveted championship hats and their names engraved on the divisional trophy. Additionally, MVP awards were presented to standout players .
- Notable game rules from 2024 included:
- No shot clock.
- A 4-second goalie clear.
- No counts or “over and back” violations.
- A mandatory in-box hold for the leading team during the final two minutes.
- Maximum of 4 long poles on-field for the 50+ division and 5 for the 35+ division.
- One timeout per half for each team.
- Running-time format to keep the schedule tight and dynamic .
Sponsor Support & Fees
- Thanks to the generosity of a sponsor, tournament fees for the 50+ division are fully covered, easing the financial commitment for veteran players.
- For 50+ participants, the only cost is for the uniform, unless the player already owns one—making participation more accessible and encouraging broader involvement.
